Poker Sales Reps Sales
Are there any advantages to salespeople playing poker? I think so.
I have been in sales for some time and more importantly for the last few months I have been in the solar PV panel industry. At the risk of digging too much into myself, I feel it is very important to explain my findings.
For those of you who don’t realize the benefits of generating your own solar power, it has really taken off in Australia. So much so that some people are actually trying to generate additional income from installing solar panels on their roofs Bandar Casino Resmi .
And how does this tie into poker I hear you ask?
Well, because of government rebates and major changes over the last few months there has been greater demand for these panels. This makes my sales job easier.
Or so it seems!
It has been shown to me in many articles about the benefits of poker players improving there skills in reading body language and picking up marks at the poker table. Common belief here at Poker Power.
And yes, you guessed it, therein lies the secret of good salesmanship.
The ability to read people and get an idea of the direction a potential customer or poker player is headed or feeling!
This is an asset worth its weight in gold. Reading people is definitely not a measurable entity, it’s a gradual learning process that you continue to grow and develop. More often than not you don’t notice the increase in your abilities and the improvement in other people’s reading skills. The telling factor is what you actually choose to do with your findings and good poker salespeople take what they learn and improve their ability to predict the likely outcome.
There is a trend of emerging trends in poker customers and players. It becomes easier to predict outcomes based on previous emotions, feelings and actions. That way, you can preempt a possible step, result, or question. A sales agent who plays good poker will look at the coming raises or possible pitfalls and will also look at basic body movements, doubts and ‘Kick the tires’ questions, all basic combatant techniques for poker players and sales reps. Having the perfect reaction to this type of action proves to be monumental both at the poker table and in the sales arena.
So has the government really made my job easier, or has poker just improved my ability to read body language in both my poker players and my customers? I tend to lean towards later. As the saying goes,
“You can lead a horse to the water, but you can’t make it drink”
Plus, you’ll always have weaker poker players winning hands with good cards, or just dumb luck. However, poker playing sales agents who master their craft will always have that edge. As is true in poker, so in sales, both are numbers game. The more you get involved, the more hands you play, the more customers you visit, the more you will succeed. However, the more you learn and the more you improve the more likely you are to convert to your consistent success.
Study hard! Play Hard! Sell Hard and most importantly Enjoy!
